TAPS Music Camp

Take your percussion skills to the next level at TAPS Music Camp, held June 28–July 2, 2026 at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach! Open to students ages 12–18, this immersive program is led by renowned percussionist Ted Atkatz and is designed for young musicians eager to improve technique, explore new musical styles, and experience chamber music in a collaborative setting.
Throughout the week, students will receive direct instruction from Ted Atkatz, participate in engaging masterclasses, and prepare for a culminating performance. Each participant will also receive a pair of Ted Atkatz signature drumsticks, along with equipment from leading sponsors including Vic Firth, Majestic Percussion, Zildjian Cymbal Company, Dragonfly Percussion, and Black Swamp Percussion. Tuition is $1,650 with on-campus housing and meals, or $975 for commuters.
